Nicole’s blog on love

June 13th, 2007 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

Nicoles’ blog on love shows in many ways a great deal of maturity. The blossoming understanding that love is nurturing not blighting. Second chances come when you leave high school because of the leaps that are made in development from 18 on. The field becomes much broader and the experiences of the persons involved more varied. Many years ago I taught a beautiful, smart young woman who hardly ever dated in high school. Her maturity level outstripped the boys her age. When she moved on to college the door to the world of men blew open. Time is a great teacher.

I am still not sure about if I would use blogging or how I would use it. I want to explore the uses further.

Why blogging?

June 11th, 2007 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

As I move into the world of technology I realize how much I don’t know. There is so much that my students do online that I have never done. They are already using blogging for their personal lives, many of them use MySpace everyday. Taking this writing experience from the world outside school and moving it inside the classroom seems natural. I believe that it helps to ease the fear that is associated with writing and gives the students freedom to express their opinions, thoughts and emotions.
